Vision
Our vision is that
All individuals have equitable access to speech pathology services locally by locals
We strive to ensure that individuals are able to develop meaningful goals that are important to them
That we (participant and glow speech pathology and services) will work together as an equal partnership during our time together
That neurodivergent individuals are provided a quality service that promotes neurodiverse affirming practices
We added the w at the end for grammatical correctness, but it also has a connection to two of our grandparents whose surname begins with w. We like that although they are not here to see our dream realised it includes them in our practice in a small way.
Glow Speech Pathology and Services
Why did you pick the name Glow Speech Pathology and Services?
Glo has a special meaning to us personally. My grandfather’s sister was named Gloden, and she had a disability. The specifics about her disability were not known, due to the time period, but from my family’s accounts we believe that Gloden had Cerebral Palsy. My grandfather, grandmother and wider family have spoken about my great-grandmother’s tireless commitment and advocacy for her child.
This formed our family’s strong values regarding equity, accessibility to services and support and instilled our allyship to disabled individuals and communities. We wanted to bring these values and commitment to the people that we work with.
